Splitting projects..

Referred by Uncle Sha…Design by Hadi - Hopefully Hadi gets his site up and finally Integration & project management by me. Usually this job can be done by one person. I chose to split the job into two because Hadi have no clue how the integration of wordpress and I have no time to conceptualise the design. Trust me its not an easy job.

With my hands full with Managing Projects, writing codes, teaching Blog Classes, marketing everything -  Islamicevents.sg, Workshops, Talks, writing blogs etc etc. I need to outsource certain aspects of the projects. I might take just a little cut though. Anyhow this is how we should progress and give opportunities to rising web designers and developers.

I’m looking forward to find a coder someday who can take over that role. Some people say..”alah cari jer orang kat India”…Hmm well these guys are cheap and fast but I prefer loyal friends whom I can trust and work with. Isn’t that business is all about?

5 million dollar blog

Another high valued blog have been reported via Problogger.net and it said that this blog is worth 5 million dollars. Take a look at www.caradvice.com.au. It took the guy, Alborz Fallah 2 years to reach that level. Goodness. I hope we can reach that status someday insyallah.

The design is totally awesome plus all the AJAX features…ahhh…”ni yang buat orang geram!!”. I’m totally inspired, should I revamp my site? Anyway the blog is all about cars - recommendations and photos!!

When you are the BOSS who scolds you?

So when you have finally taken the step to start your business and being your own boss. Now you don’t have any naggy bosses to tell you off or scold you anymore if you ever did a mistake.

So who scolds you? Well the answer is quite simple…YOUR CUSTOMERS…

Maybe perhaps you are growing to fast and you happen to mishandled quite a few things. You miss out the minor minor things that customers are fussy about.

So yeah don’t ever think that when you are the BOSS you don’t get scolded. You do and most of the time its very indirect. Well what can you say customers/clients do expect the best from you and there are times even when you have done your best its still not good enough. Just like those days when teachers expect better and better from you. Ooh well.

This post is not meant to dishearten anyone out there. There’s some reality to it. So as Bosses or Entrepreneurs its actually a challenge to overcome such anger and if you are able to keep a calm and steady head during this period of torment, that would be great. Alhamdullilah..you probably have the right set of mindset and humility to start off.

I have had a fair share of scolding and negative remarks. So let’s share if you have any..

Ymail?

I dont know about you. Perhaps I’m slower than the rest. Yesterday I received a subscriber with @ymail.com. For a long time, I thought this was spammer or something but to my surprise its Yahoo Mail.

Just google for ymail…or type ymail.com - Yahoo mail will appear.

So why did yahoo suddenly change their tails? i guess typing ymail.com is much easier than typing yahoo.com..

Well its easier for me to check my yahoo mails then… YMAIL.com

Advertising Effectiveness and the Wave

Catch the wave else you will lose out…

Did you know there is a wave for every business opportunity? We will only know this when we actually tried it out or if you happen to do much research you will be able to know this from season entrepreneurs.

Abang Abu and I was discussing stuff about the recent advertising effectiveness on BH.. It seems that there have been lesser response to our advertisement including my own Blogging Workshops. So the return of investments was not worth it. Its actually quite bad 3-5 calls only and 3 of them were closed the last time I advertise.

So you see..Closing the deal was not a problem because those who called up were already interested. All we needed was to tell them what exactly they are going to learn and what needed to be done.

What we needed were more calls.

Then about copyrighting…hmmm… OK i guess that needs to be improved on…

Size of ads…its kind of expensive to have bigger ones..but that’s not the point…the bigger the ads may not be effective at all..

Then it triggered me that do people actually want this at this time period? The wave is different and we may be fishing at the wrong time and place where the fishes are not there. The wave may not bring the fish at this time either.

So what are the waves I’m talking about? If you look at the calendar right now, these are the waves that you must catch.

Ramadhan and Syawal !! What are the opportunities available..

Ramadhan opportunities - are as such..Ramadhan Bazaars at the different locations, mosques and so on..So a lot of things can be sold, food, accessories, baju kurung, kuih muih and so on..

While Syawal brings in different opportunities because this is where wedding days thrive. According to Bro Luqman (who is getting married in October), he says that one the Ustadz during his Marriage Preparation Courses mention that the couples will receive much blessings / barakah from Allah s.w.t if they have their wedding during this period. So yeah now you know why they are so many weddings during the Syawal period.

So I was telling Abang Abu…maybe we need to pitch differently..Such as Abang Abu Financial Courses..Maybe we need to have courses to teach people to budget and use their money wisely for the ramadhan period.

While my blog will pitch..Use your blogs to promote your products this ramadhan!!

Weird SMSes

I’ve been getting weird SMSes lately. I guess uncle sha is right. We should not give out our personal numbers away. It does get irritating where suddenly you get sms from someone then they are asking you weird questions.

Hmm my number is not a social network no k…Its a business line!! Its meant to be used for business only!! I will only entertain business questions from now on..

I understand that ladies these days are modern..Instead of the guys doing the skirt chasing its the opposite these days.. hmmm..

Anyway from now on…i would probably just reply “Please visit www.islamicevents.sg” to such emails…Sounds like my email auto vacation-responders!! Heh
