Heard about this project? Well this open source project by Tech Smith is really wonderful. Tech Smith are creators of Camtasia - the award winning screen capture software

Open Source are free to use softwares and can be developed further by third party vendors.  So programmers and developers have a look at it yah.

For teachers and online gurus this is really a wonderful opportunity to create tons of screen capture videos for your online audiences.

I got to know this while watching Russel Brunsons video yesterday. It pays to follow him on twitter. :)

Email Marketing ..

October 31, 2008 by Fadzuli · Leave a Comment

Ok this tutorial took me about 3 hours plus to write amids all the distractions I had.  So this tutorial focuses very much on the ethics of email marketing and I revealed a few tactics that helped me build my list faster that the usual Joe and further more keep the traffic flow to this website on going.

Basicly all I did is combine Gmail and the Viral Inviter software together. You will be surprised how the different tools available on the internet can be integrated together to achieve maximum results.

This time I’m opening up the email not just to my students but to all to see what’s actually being taught in there….

http://www.fadzuli.com/internetCode/EmailMarketing.php

So if you are keen to learn more click the banner below, read through what is up for you and write in to me if you are interested. I only take students that are really interested in running their own Internet Business. So are you the one?

It’s been quite a busy week

October 30, 2008 by Fadzuli · 2 Comments

After an EXPO the recovery phase is kind of hectic too. Took the whole day off last Tuesday and yesterday I had to go around settling the payments and stuff.

Just like to share with you guys what we went through….

Perhaps these are the mistakes that we made that you can learn from..

1) Not understanding the Consumer mindset..
2) Being in the wrong place for the wrong product.
3) Capital Intensive.

Initially we only needed to do Advertising and Promotion via Flyers during that event. But given the chance to have a booth at a very discounted price, I asked myself why not?

So we opened a booth promoting OSMS CallBack Cards (www.eazycalls.net) and Abang Abu’s books.

Mistake No1: Not understanding the Consumer mindset..

This was the gravest mistake that we made. Initially we thought that the people that would come for the EXPO would be those that would want to look into new products, to learn about money management (Abang Abu’s books) and wish to know more about savings.

We were totally wrong… Most of the consumers that went down there were either looking for clothes or food and for some they went down only for the talks and shows. Majority were just passing through.

Very few were interested in Technology products and new media stuff that we were promoting.

So that brings me to the next point.

Mistake No2: Being in the wrong place for the wrong product..

The nature of our business. Well firstly Islamicevents.sg is an online portal and we didn’t exactly hit our targeted marketed correctly. All the three services that we had require extensive explaination before people could really understand it.

We could have thought of having to sell products that only requires little explainations with fast  transactions and products which people really need. Hmmm.

Mistake No3: Capital Intensive

Fortunately for us, Fadzrun and I had forsee the worst case scenarios. We did manage to capture a few loans before the EXPO in case sales target were not met but we made quite a lot of judgemental errors too. Due to the factors above, we made quite significant losses.

For that 4 days we made too little sales to cover the costs of our expenditure, therefore making losses which amounts to 1-2 projects to offset it.

Mistake No4: Let’s stick to one niche at a time..

Having one booth with three services could kill you. There are times that we did not know what to promote even though it gives the visitors some variety to choose from.

Lessons to learn..

Ok so before we embark on having a booth at EXPO or anywhere, it is important to know and study the characteristics of people coming and the other businesses that’s there. Its hard to get this information before hand but roughly from EXPO to EXPO we could have learn this.

Besides having products with heavy information and explaination. Perhaps we need to have products which are easy to sell where they can buy it off the shelves but related to our niche. This would help in paying for the expenses.

Perhaps we could have totally sold of the booth to another vendor and take a small portion to keep our stores.

Nasi dah jadi bubur… Let’s learn from it and move on..

Credit or Debit Cards.

October 27, 2008 by Fadzuli · 2 Comments

Do you have a credit or debit card?

I realise that a lot of people who wants to do Internet Business but they don’t own a Credit Card or a Debit Card. Then how do you make transactions on the Internet then.

Well you may have fears about getting a credit card because you may be afraid of getting into debt. Well if so why not get a Debit card then?

What’s the difference between a credit card and a debit card?

Credit Card.

When you apply for the a credit card. The Bank will give you credit up to a certain limit depending on your monthly income. There are cards that have very low limits while others that requires you to submit your pay slips and so on.

Example. You are given $500 spending limit. It means that you can borrow the bank up to $500 and you do need to pay back within a certain time period too else you will incur interest charges that can amount to 25% to 30% per annum depending on the bank.

For those of you who worry about not being able to pay back the money, please consider using a debit card then.

Debit Card

The debit card works similarly to your ATM card or in Singapore they called it NETs. It also works like a credit card because you are given the 16 digit code and the security code behind the card. You can use it to make online payments and pay for your products.

Unlike the credit card, the debit card immediately deducts the amount you purchase from your Bank. Therefore you do not need to worry about amounting debts later on.

How to apply?

Drop by your nearest bank and ask for “DEBIT card”. Most banks these days provide this facility.

What comes around goes around…

I’ve always tell this to my students…

If you wish to make money on the internet, then you must also build the culture of spending on the internet itself. When you do so and educate others to do this, others will also begin to follow.

Spend wisely…

Unlike shopping at the mall, you need to be physically there to spend the money. Being in the virtual world called the internet, you tend to be tempted to buy every single product and package that is available in the websites too. So PLEASE spend on what you can afford.

You are what you spend..

If you do have problems, please consult a financial manager and ask them about how to spend and manage your money better.

Asian Muslim Consumer Showcase

October 25, 2008 by Fadzuli · 4 Comments

http://amcsmegasale.com/images/logo.pngIt has been a very busy week as my team and I had to prepare for the Asian Muslim Consumer Showcase for this weekend.

At the same time I am also juggling writing up the contents for E-Coaching Courses. I hope my students have benefit it from it so far.

Initially we did not expect to get a booth during this event but being offered at a very reasonable price (20%), we told ourselves why not? Remember Jim Dornan’s why not story…Furthermore they have agreed that we can pay for the stall after the EXPO.

So what exactly are we selling? Well IslamicSG Networks does not have any physical products to sell, therefore we have partnered up with Abang Abu to sell his courses and Books. and also OSMS to sell their Call Back Services. Insyallah that could cover the basic rental costs.

Our main intention is to pass our flyers around and hopefully it will catch their attention. That’s the design of the flyer on top. I hope its not too controversial….

Fadzuli will also be there to provide FREE Internet Business advice. So drop by EXPO Singapore today! :)

50K funding to look forward to…

October 23, 2008 by Fadzuli · 2 Comments

http://www.projectsenso.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=216;type=avatarToday I had the opportunity to speak to Nicholas Chan, the director of Azione Capital Pte Ltd and co-founder of Project Senso

Well Nicholas is quite a fellow as he is a TECHNOLOGY VENTURE CAPITALIST. What he does is to fund or help start ups to take off. At the same time he also mentors this start ups to go up to the next phase.

We had a very fruitful discussion as he asked me about the Malay Muslim Market Segments and he was wondering why our Muslim Community are not moving into the Tech Venture Directions. As I explained to him, perhaps its our culture and mindset that have not been moulded to be Entrepreneurs. I told him our people are different, we need to sowed very differently because our community needs to be moved spiritually too. Unlike the Chinese, the Malays are not driven because of MONEY alone.

Nicholas said, ” People say they cannot start a business because they dont have money, what if I give them the money, can they do it?”

Well I answered very frankly. There’s no point throwing money that way because even if you give them money, majority of them would not know what to do with it and that money would be used for the wrong things. They will never learn about the real values of Entrepreneurship that way. Furthermore most of our community don’t even understand the true TECH BUSINESS yet.

So I introduced him to my coaching program. For a while he wasn’t really keen to listen but I told him that Entrepreneurs can be groom. As I was when I started MLM, the Soap Business and  now my tech ventures, the mind need to be groom and they need to be sowed. From here equip them with the basic knowledge, get them to start with simple easy steps and show them results. Even if its $1 or 5 cents. Its still an achievement.

Therefore I hope through this e-course, my students will be able to see the potential of internet business and they are able to start to go on their own through the techniques. Who knows one or two them might even utilize the funds that Nicholas can provide. :)

Court cases

Nicholas also shared with me about a court case he is battling currently. Can’t tell you the details here.. I don’t want to get involve in the messy feuds.

Ahh this is another subject that Entrepreneurs need to learn too. We have to learn to PROTECT ourselves. There will be a time either you will be SUED or YOU will sue people for certain things. You will never know, when someone or a company wants to do this to you. Therefore its important to get to know legal people and understand the laws carefully. Just look at the big companies these days, how many of them HAVE NOT been sued before? So when we grow bigger, its important to set some of your business funds for LEGAL action. How much, I have yet to reach that stage so I shall talk about it when I get the proper advice for this..Insyallah.

Getting free advice

I was telling him that Islamicevents.sg could not move on to Malaysia yet because of several factors such as our REVENUE model not yet secured. Meaning the revenue model is not structured yet to guarantee enough funds when we set up in other countries. When that happens we can end up going broke before we even do anything. By the way this blog is read by several Malaysians too. Perhaps we can built up a joint venture biz soon. Let me finish my courses soon. :)

I recall an advice from one of the richest Malay in Singapore, Mr Umar Hamid - “if you cannot do it here in Singapore, what else overseas..”. Why? because Singapore is the easiest place to start a business and here there is almost zero corruption.  No offense to my overseas readers. If you can’t do it here, can we really made it in Malaysia, Indonesia or anywhere else? Furthermore the different states have different perceptions of Islam. Therefore a careful study and research would be important before embarking on those places.

So Nicholas showed me a channel of income on counselling. Upfront payments and a percentage cut from the revenue that can be proposed to mosque and how we can benefit from this idea.

A few months back I talked about piecing up a puzzle or formula.. It seem that I’ve been attracting the answers to me. With Islamicevents.sg, to sponsoring the Asian Consumer Megasale Showcase, to developing my e-courses and listening to Nicholas about Consultations… It all makes more sense now.

* A clear picture may not be seen early in the start up business phase, as you develop your business and stick around it for sometime, the anwers will eventually will come. To some it may take a few days, to some it may take months and to some it may take years to see this clear picture. Keep doing it..keep doing it…

Back to the 50K funding… If you do intend to start a Tech business. Drop me an email and I will tell you if that can be done or not…  You don’t have to be a TECHY or a PROGRAMMER but you need to be the DRIVER of your business.

Why don’t you need to be a Programmer, Web Designer, Engineer?
Well with that funding you can always hire someone on a project basis… If the project starts to make money, you can hire them full time or make them your partners. :)

So now another opportunity opens up for the Malay Community. Are you going to take it up? For Singaporeans you are elgible up to 50K funding. For Malaysians you are eligible up to RM $300 K funding. Nicholas also have bases in Malaysia too.

Great great Sunday..

October 19, 2008 by Fadzuli · Leave a Comment

Today have been really a magnificient day for me. I told myself that I would start the day positive and you know everything went SUPERBLY WELL!

Firstly I managed to solve the $2 profit idea…In fact $1.50..but what the heck.. :)

Then I brought my mum around for Hari Raya outings and I thought I would be dead bored following her around but at every single place that we went to, there was something GREAT to learn..:)

First place: Ustadz Abu Bakar Travels - They have a gathering for Ustaz Abu Bakar students. There I met a few people I know, I think her name is Syikin, a secondary school friend. Hmm didn’t knew that she was learning from Ustadz Abu Bakar.. Then I started to talk lah to the Uncles around me..yup every where was people above 50 but its ok. I just shared my stories about business and so on. :)

When my mum was still busy talking to her friends and I don’t have anyone to talk too, I took out my book “Magic of Thinking Big”.. I bought the book way back in Uni days but I never finish it.. So today I decided to bring it along and read it if I had the chance.

There was a bookmark where I left it off a few years ago. So I continued from there..

It pays to make “little” people feel like big people.

…. Make someone feel important and he cares for you. And when he cares about you, he does more for you.

That was the first paragraph I read…yes its just one paragraph and it really touched me. I began reflecting the people I’ve looked down at and the people I’ve mocked at. Yes Fadzuli is also HUMAN and we do make the mistakes. So that paragraph is a reminder for me to always humble myself and treat everyone with respect and insyallah if possible empower them at all times. :)

Second place: We went to Toa Payoh next. I had this opportunity to speak to this young boy, age 8. While my mum was talking to adults I spoke to this boy, Khairul. Initially I wanted to ask him very simple and standard questions but the conversation went through the process of  dreams and ambitions.

I realise that children really have BIG dreams… I believe ADULTs should talked more to children about it. Really it helps, it helps to see their excitement and their energy when they talked about it.  The way Khairul talked about his dreams inspired me…Infact I find this boy much more mature than his age. It was really wonderful just talking to him.

Then I asked him about school how he was faring? You know he failed all subjects except for the Malay Language for his mid year papers. What would a parent do when you know that? I think by now, you guys would throw your kids to tuition centers right? Hmm perhaps I would but I identified a talent in this kid…He was a very good STORY TELLER and he was the type that was not afraid to talk to people..”Such a TALENT is very rare for a YOUNG BOY…”.

Before leaving the house, I manage to talk to the father and  I ask him about the kid. He told me that Khairul is very resourceful, he dares to talk people and make connections. At that age, he is already doing that..Goodness I wish I can be like him at that age..haha… I think by the time he is and adult, he would have known thousands of people.

“Its about WHO YOU KNOW NOT WHAT YOU KNOW”

3rd place: At Yishun: This is where I met up with Bro Juraiman. Bro Juraiman is actually from MUIS and he asked me about how I could help him to use portals to help raise funds for the upcoming Mosque Upgrading Projects. We had a swell conversation there. Yes a potential project to work on. :)

Slowly but surely people are starting to see the POWER of the Internet. When we started www.islamicevents.sg one year back, it was very difficult to convince MUIS but now people are starting to realise it.. So you see sometimes you just need to start something and eventually the doors of OPPORTUNITY will open for you. Visions of yester years are slowly coming true. Stay TRUE to what you do and keep on doing it. :)

4th place: Ang Mo Kio Ave 4. This time we went to Zuhaili’s open house. Kind of a big occasion cos they did it at the void deck. Here we met an old friend who is currently doing TRANSFER FACTOR.. He’s doing very well now as he has already started venturing out to Malaysia and Indonesia. TRANSFER FACTOR is a MLM business ya..

We shared some great values with each other and we talked about the concept of MONEY and BUSINESS.

Quote..

In fact doing business is not only about creating wealth because it creates wealth within that person.

Meaning doing business not only will you learn about money, it also teaches you about life, about freedom, about choices, about decision and many more.

5th place: Cik Yah & Family - Ang Mo Kio Ave 10

Every year when I come to this humble home, it really emphasize the importance of having PASSIVE income because Cik Yah is taking care of her mentally ill 51 year old sister.

Imagine if she, her husband and her family is not around anymore. Who would take care of this mentally ill sister? Then how can PASSIve Income work here? Yes if you know what to do and learn about Inheritance better, you can actually put a WILL to have your assets into helping the NEEDY even after you leave this world.

I do once a while think about what will happen when I leave this world. What I would leave behind? And have I contributed enough to society to have a place in Heaven.

6th place: At Bedok Reservoir

This is the last place. I’m looking for sales people for my exhibition next week at EXPO for the Asian Muslim Consumer Showcase.

We are given a 3 metre x 3 metre booth for a very very good price for 4 days from 24th to 27th October 2008.

So yeah I found my two sales people here.

Requirement to take the job:

1) Prior experience in sales would be great!
2) Must be interested in sales.
3) Be willing to accomodate to Islamic Clothings. I’m running and Islamic Company thus the image must be right too. :)

4) Can work for 4 days straight. There’s shift..

So we are looking for 2 more helpers if interested, contact me ..fadzuli@islamicevents.sg

Its easier to teach people to do sales when they are already interested to do it. :)

Yes ahhhh…I figured out my $2.00 strategy..

October 19, 2008 by Fadzuli · 3 Comments

Part of my coaching program is to teach you to make $0 to your own Potential Income. So this idea came kind of late but it will work out very smoothly and this will be my CASH COW and my students too.

You see there are some strategies that requires you to develop the income from time but their payments are super late. They take 3-4 months to process and if you are doing Adsense you know that it will take like 1.5 months before you actually get the money. For your info if you did not realise Russel Brunson will only pay you somewhere in February or March.

So how are you going to survive then? This is where Entrepreneurships skills really kick in. You have to also develop these form of thinking. Remember my article, the PROCESS of CREATING WEALTH

Actually I will refer you to this article..SECOND MAP LESSON

Now Russel’s Program actually solve the start up phase from $0 to $1. You just have to find one person to join that program. If you can find more of course you can earn more than $0 to $1. :) So this program actually just generates $1 profits..

So now let’s that the next step..What can make you earn $1.50 to $2.00 profit? Have you come to think of that yet or have are you just been waiting for me to tell you what to do? I hope you start taking your own initiative to start thinking of bigger margin. Remember you have to be your own leader and you have to learn to start things on your own too.

Yeah have gotten what I’m trying to tell you? This goes back to my article about being your own leader…

A man can change the world but he cannot do it alone

I will reveal my $2.00 profit product soon when I’m ready with the website..Infact its just $1.50 profit because of the PAYPAL transactions fees deducted. Well its better than $0 right… :)

Just a hint…Its an accounting product and every business needs this…:)

Ooh yah for you info, my coaching course is not a full course yet because I’m doing it on the FLY….So being the first batch you will have the privilege of seeing my ideas flow as you read my blogs, tutorials and guides.

This is so EXCITING!!!!

13 have signed up..When will it be your turn?

Relationship Building

October 18, 2008 by Fadzuli · Leave a Comment

I found this article at http://www.ezinfocenter.com. Even though the concepts are being used for Network Marketing it can also be applied here in Online Businesses.

How does person A generate more commission with three leads than person B with a thousand leads in the same network marketing group? Person A is familiar with the fundamental principle of network marketing - relationship building.

People generally join a network marketing group because they want to profit from being a business owner and obtain financial freedom, but they may not have the skills or knowledge to start their own business. The greatest attraction to network marketing is the ability to be involved in a profitable system with a number of people eager to help - a valuable characteristic typically not found in other business opportunities.

Prospects that are generated are guaranteed people who are Interested in network marketing, however, their interest can be quickly lost. The reason being that people are generally lazy. People would rather be walked through something than do it entirely by themselves. Those active in network marketing were novices to the subject at one point. They did not understand how profits were made, how to generate leads or where to start. The reason they continued to be involved after their initial interest is because they had a leader who was willing to help and teach them to run their new business. Often leads that are generated appear to lack interest because they are not motivated, but in actuality they lack guidance.

Prospects that are generated are the highest concentration of a targeted audience that can be obtained. By simply following up, an enormous conversion rate can be produced. Guide new members with strategies of network marketing. “Get the ball rolling for them” and they will be eager to learn and begin their business. Teach them how simple network marketing is and they will produce an income for you.

Value every lead that is generated. These pospects are the greatest targeted audience that can be found - remember they have already shown interest and are ready for a change. A new member may take a year to actually become active. There are number of factors that could play for this latent action. They may be researching, slowly setting up a business for the future, attaining funds to market their business or they are just too busy at the moment. Regardless, every lead has some interest in network marketing and can potentially be your greatest income producer. In addition, many times those who have a moderate interest quickly become highly interested. Network marketing is a business opportunity that is hard to turn down.

Follow-ups are persuasive in nature. By continually following up with prospects, the receiver is slowly absorbing the message. On average, a person has to be exposed to a message six times before the message is understood. Repetition is the most effective means of communication, therefore, every time a follow-up is made, the receiver is more likely to take action.

It is important to note that following up can be overdone and appear aggressive. Contacting leads by email more than once a week can seem obtrusive and cause the receiver to ignore future messages while developing a negative view of the represented company. A follow-up should disclose who you are, who you represent and a way to contact you. The message should be brief and concentrate on one topic - the receiver will not encode a broad message that covers many aspects. Include links for the receiver to find out more or how to take action, provide them with a way to contact you with any questions or concerns and let them know that your support is available.

Generating leads in network marketing is the toughest part, but making the leads work for you is vital. Be supportive and lead by example. Motivate and help your downline and they will be motivated to do the same. Getting started in network marketing is difficult, but from there it’s free sailing. Help your leads raise their sails and they will produce your income.

* My coaching program is not NETWORK MARKETING but still we will be using certain principles up there. So I hope you enjoyed reading it.

I’ve highlighted certain points in red..So let’s elaborate…

1) The reason being that people are generally lazy

I don’t think I have to explain this. Even if you finish my coaching program and never take ACTION you will never see the results.

2) By simply following up, an enormous conversion rate can be produced.

This is so true. The first point of meeting people have never been the point of sale. Usually it takes a few follow up sessions to really move a sale. So don’t give up when people say NO the first time.

3) Value every lead that is generated

If you have 10 students. Treat everyone of them like they are your children. Even if you have 1000 students treat them the same way. Value every single person you meet. You never know who can help you reach your goal someday.

4) On average, a person has to be exposed to a message six times before the message is understood.

Follow ups are important here and do be the one to keep reminding others.

5) A follow-up should disclose who you are, who you represent and a way to contact you.

This is a very good advice. Usually a follow up sessions should be also used to tell people who you really are, what you are doing and selling and yes it gives you the opporunity for them to contact you eventually. :)

Join my program today..12 people have already sign up.. when will be it be your turn?
