Company blogging has been a white elephant for quite some time, with few books springing up, one which I enjoyed reading was Corporate Blogging for Dummies. Companies have 2 basic issues on blogging: 1) Can I allow my employees to blog about the company 2) Should my company have a company blog. Usually blogs are used in the PR strategies of companies. Microsoft for example took a step in promoting this guy who was already an avid blogger about Microsoft. They saw his writings as neutral (not biased or too jialat) and the public trusted his opinions on his blog more than a, let’s say “Official Microsoft Blog”. It’s good viral marketing, but must be managed well.
