Shaykh Khalil Moore is an upcoming Islamic scholar who has learned in the hands of professors and shaykhs in Madinah, Mauritania, Morocco, Emirates, Egypt and Yemen. He studied the Maliki and Shafi’i jurisprudence (fiqh), Arabic language and has translated and edited several classical and contemporary Islamic books. Here is Shaykh Khalil Moore’s website.

    Quoted from Hafihz.com

Bismillahirahmanirrahim – In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful,

I’ve got the opportunity to attend his workshops and got to exchange contacts with the Sheikh personally. For someone who used to be part of a band playing the guitar and hanging out in clubs & concerts to becoming a Muslim Scholar. Indeed his life story itself is inspiring.

A convert at the age of 18. He mentioned that the first time he walked into the mosque was with shorts. The Imam who approach them( him & his friend, Harun – (correct me if I’m wrong) ) had all smiles and welcomed them. I think if it were to happen here, you will be seeing people wailing at you. heh. What if the imam then didn’t approach it as he described? Allahualam..

From the 3 day lecture at Madrasah Aljunied to Friday prayers to Singapore Post to the talk at Khalid Mosque. I’m practically there listening to his talks all the time. It seems to be like a big magnet attracting me to him. I wouldn’t want to explain in technical terms..somehow Allah s.w.t has his ways of connecting people to each other.

Everyone who attended his lectures would agree with me that Syaikh Khalil Moore is worth listening to. Just look at the crowd last Friday @ Singapore Post Auditorium.

I was there late cos I had a FOLLOW UP class with my recent Blogging Students. When I reached there the whole place was packed from inside the auditorium to outside. If someone would count, I think it was close to over 1,000 people there. Masyallah.

For those who missed, Syaikh Khalil Moore was talking about “The Rose in the Desert”, which he talked about our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. I can’t tell you more cos he was already doing Q&A by the time I arrived.  I hope SimplyIslam.sg (the organisers) would put up a video of the lectures soon or if you guys out there would want to share?

I jotted down several points through out the talks and insyallah I will post it up here or at wwww.Islamicevents.sg news page for discussions.
