50m away
Just 50 m away from the prize.
I took IPPT again last Saturday knowingly and confidently think that i could get a SILVER.
We had to report at Tanjung Ghul Camp that day for IPKT and TSR test. They had allocated a IPPT slot for previous failures too. So yup i took the chance to improve from a pass to SILVER.
$100 more man. It’s not just the money, its the pride too. When you see a soldier getting GOLD and you an OFFICER get a pass.. What the fish..It really shows that I need to train up again and be back to my usual fitness level. My old buddy Calvin from NYP would scream to me if he knew of this.. haha..he was a super athletic guy lah. At 28 he could still run at 8.20 min for 2.4 then. I think he still can run that timing since he is suppose to be 31 or 32 now.
Anyway i had been running the 10km for the last two weeks. So confidently i thought i could make it at least below 11 min.
The static stations were quite a breeze except for sit up. Only 33 sit up..what the fish, my lower back was hurting like mad after that.
Ooh well. I manage to shake it off though and so i did a warm up round along the route. Just a short walk and short run to gauge the distance and plan the sprinting points.
When the 2.4 km run started. As usual i would start running at a slower pace first to create momentum. Some guy in front had already run like a mad guy but he stopped after the first round. First round was pretty constant at 5.30min. I needed to run a bit faster for the second and yeah i did that.
The pace seem to be too hard for the body. The mind seems to alright but the body is not conditioned yet. The push apparently created a mess, i began to feel giddy 150m towards the end. I could still hold it though but 50 m towards the end, i had to move to the side and started vomitting. I think i vomitted for around 2-3 minutes there. Once everything cleared up. I walked back to the finishing line. 13.23 minsn was the time.
So imagine if i could have run back without vomitting. It was a sure less than 11min run..haizzz.
My CO thought i drank liquor the day before but what the heck i don’t drink nor smoke lah. I guess its the body conditioning and lack of rest could have caused that. Ooh yeah no food also..should have eaten a bit in the morning.
