New Learnings from Sujimy Mohd

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to meet Sujimy again. Its a talk organised by PBMUKS at Yusoff Ishak’s House in NUS.

The talk was about how to succeed after University. As we all know by today, that the degree doesn’t determine success but it only open more doors for you. What makes you successful is YOU.

So that day he shared some pointers on what to do. Be it in any profession a teacher, lawyer, doctor, engineer, road sweeper these points that he mentions are universal and everyone who wants to succeed must know this.

1) Firstly he mentions about First Impressions. Be it you are going for a job interview or meeting a client - first Impression does matter. It shows your attitude and character..
Sujimy was even telling us about how he could read people’s attitude by the way someone walks. Ok but dont judge a book by its cover k. All you know a genius is hiding behind those selekeh clothes and tak senonoh attitude.

2) What is being successful all about? This one will be determine by yourself. Every individual has to set their own goals and dreams. Some people say that being successful is about having lots of money, while others will say that being successful is about having many degrees and qualifications while others may say that having lots of children is successful. It differs from people to people. So know what you want in life and GO for it.

3) Create Interest. This is very important…If you want to be successful you cannot just work blindly and follow orders!! Be the one to step up and create ideas that allows people to be attracted to you. This is also part of Laws of Attraction. If we create interest in whatever we do, people will come to you and will want to be part of it. Customers and clients will flock to you for whatever interests that you generate.

4) Network. The time to network is now when you are schooling. The networks that you develop now may turn to Gold in the future. So get to know as many people as possible. Be it local or global friends, do link up with anyone.

5) Developing your niche. If you are a generalist, the chances of you being successful is zip and zero. Why because you will end up doing too many things which may not even work for you. Find something which you love to do then expand in that area.

That’s all for now….I’ll put on more examples someday when I have more free time…

My Life Mission: I enable others to discover purpose in their lives and empower them to pursue their dreams and live life to the fullest with God’s blessing.
