PBM Appreciation 2007 - Fiesta Do La Siesta

Yesterday PBMUKS - NUS Malay Language Society had their Appreciation Award Ceremony. It was held at Changi Fairy Point Chalet 6 - located close to the Commando’s Camp.

Some of us came in with cars and bikes. Those who took the bus stopped just outside commando’s camp and they were ferried in by Faizola who was driving Kamie’s 7 seater Car.

Just like many other events, we were greeted with smiles and goodies. We had to wait for a while before we could get to the second level where the show was suppose to start, so I decided to go around taking photos of the whole chalet.

$200 per nite

Sounds like a reasonable price to rent the whole bungalow right? Apparently only civil servants are given the privilege of renting it at that price. Others would be given less priority, so fortunately for us there was Faizal Rawi!!

The bungalow is quite big. It has 6 rooms and in each room there are 2 beds each with their own toilets. Ok sorry I dont have the pics!! Easily the bungalow can fit about 50-100 people in there without any problems for events such as ours or weddings like what our next door neighbor were busy with.

The show has started

MC of the event was Kamal and Faizal Rawi (siapa lagi kan!!). Yes with their merepekness, they manage to warm up the audience with some games!!

Who has the shortest, longest, biggest??? That’s the only clue given, each group had to send a representative that match this criteria.

Making your own pilata or something like that!!

There’s this one game, I have no idea. The objective is to be blind folded and hmm try to hit a bag of sweets after being spinned around 5 times.

Below is a video of mua trying to hit that bag but i missed..haha in kung-fu style. Its not that easy k!! Nobody won that game anyway.

After the games, there was lucky draw and award ceremony to recognise committees that has done well the past year and also to individuals that has contributed to PBM’s causes.

I won the veteran of the year award.
This may perhaps be the last year that I’ll be contributing.
