The shrimp paste

Yesterday i went down to Kallang to listen to an Indonesian speaker talk about time and money freedom. There was a story that he shared that still lingers in my head and its about ATTITUDE.

So here it goes. One day this grandson played a prank on his grandfather. Whilst the grandfather was sleeping, he put shrimp paste on his mustache. You know that shrimp paste is quite smelly, so the grandfather woke up and said why is it so smelly. Is it this room?

So he went out to the living room and still he the smell was there without realizing that there was shrimp paste on him. So what he did was blame the kids for not cleaning the room and living room. Then he went out of the house and still was still there and yet he still blames it on someone else.

END of story…ok i might not have describe it so vividly but i realize that sometimes we tend to blame other people when something goes wrong and never really look at ourselves for the mistakes. Same as the grandfather, probably ego and experience makes him think that he’s right but he’s not. This is when humility needs to kick in and tell ourselves to look at ourselves first before others.

So the talk yesterday was more of a refresher rather than to learn something new…

Ok the past week, she has been great and we get to know each other better…..Haha been seeing her too often already….Ok promise next week ok…eh besok dah next week hehe…
