Death of Two Serviceman….

June 13, 2008 by Fadzuli · Leave a Comment

Yesterday I had an sms telling me that this Saturday’s Run have been cancelled at East Coast Park. Before reading today’s news, I sense that there was a problem..”Something must have happen”..So this morning while I was looking out for my ads, I glance through the Berita Harian headlines. “Death of Two Serviceman”.

A recruit in Tekong and a Officer Cadet in Brunei..

“SEORANG anggota Perkhidmatan Negara (NS) sepenuh masa, Pegawai Kadet Pelatih (OCT) Lam Jia Hao Clifton, 20 tahun, meninggal dunia kelmarin ketika menjalani latihan orientasi hutan di Brunei.

Condolences to these bros whom have left us.

Due to these events, the Chief of Army have given an order to cut off all exercises including physical training till this Saturday.

I remembered during my time in 4 SIR, the senior officers shared stories of such incidences that happen to a driver whom was found not to be condition to walk the jungles of Brunei..Similar to the OCT Lam, evacuation took some time and they were not able to get him out fast enough. Trust me the jungles are not easy to go through and to locate people on land is difficult due to the thick jungle.

So how is it possible for the cadet to have this problem..As we all know that these cadets would have gone through several tough training before going to Brunei itself to condition themselves. Perhaps the answers will be reported in the news soon..
