Prior to running my own Internet Business in 2007, I too have an offline business selling a special kind of SOAP for the MUSLIM community and I've promoted it using Blogs and only Email Marketing & MSN through friends and emails back then.
How I started...
In the initial phases of that business, it did not seem to hit the market immediately but a few months later there was a sudden surge of phone calls and enquiries about this SOAP.. I've spent many weeks trying to understand what's going on and finally I asked one of the customers, "How did you know about my SOAP?". They found it through friends forwarding my emails. Wow I told myself. The emails did WORK!
THAT WAS MY FIRST LESSON IN EMAIL MARKETING...
I didn't know it was so good that it could spread to so many people and at that time I was also those few who knew how to send graphics through emails. People were surprised that they can see images immediately in their emails. I realise till today many out there still do not know how to do that right?

Can I ask you something? Do you need to have a website to do Internet Marketing? Hmm well its best that you have one but you don't need one to begin with. More importantly we don't want you to be distracted into the details of web creation because that can be another course on its own.
