Should you buy a domain with your name?

This idea struck me today cos recently I helped to set up a blog for a friend. Her name is so common yet nobody had purchase that domain ever since the Internet started.

As a businessman, I keep telling people my name, pass my name cards around and do so many things lah with my name. Before you sell your service or sell your products, you will introduce yourself first right. Well heard of this saying, “Sell yourself first before selling your services?”. So you see, before you even do anything, you are actually selling yours name first. Did you realise that your name can actually be a “BRAND”?

Today just based on my name, i get a lot of organic searches. Whenever my friends ask me how to find me. I would tell them to just “Google for Fadzuli”! You’ll see my name up there. Isn’t that easy “Google for Fadzuli”. Ok this may sounds weird but it becomes easy for your friends to find you.

Well let’s be honest..My name is very uncommon though therefore I had to do a lot of promotion through offline and online marketing but hey it works lah. Eventually I am at the top and people are searching for my name. So much for trying so hard to get to the top of Google’s list right based on your niche and all you know its already within your name. Why not promote your own name and who knows you’ll get free traffic anyway!!

Jutawan Internet Blog!!

Logo designers..Watch this site

Well I found this site recently through the YoungEntrepreneur.com forum and I thought I share this to Aspiring Logo Designers out there.

This site consists of mini logo competitions which pays you in USD dollars.

Although it looks like a bidding competition but I think they’ve made it a really good niche..What a way to get people to your site.

Off topic a bit here -Well as you see these are some Internet Business models that we can create and think of. We can’t just be selling products all the time. We also need to think of ways to attract people to your site.

What I love about Competitions is that you get to be known to many people even though you win or lose. If your logos are really great people will still recognize it no matter what. Its all about positive thinking, you never know when Companies might contact you again for future opportunities.

Competitions are also great cos you get to network with people alike!! Well they may be your competitors but who knows when they are busy, they might pass you jobs.
